Why everyone keeps coming back.

Crooked Letter Kitchen Flowood is a vibrant culinary destination nestled in the heart of Flowood, Mississippi, that brilliantly showcases a fusion of Southern comfort and Creole-inspired flavors. This restaurant effortlessly captivates diners with its inviting atmosphere—warm, friendly, and bustling with an energy that makes you feel like part of something special from the moment you walk through the door.

The menu at Crooked Letter Kitchen is crafted with passion and creativity, spotlighting bold, hearty dishes that celebrate local ingredients with a distinctive twist. One cannot miss the Cheesy Pig, a crowd favorite that truly stands as the hallmark of the kitchen’s mastery: tender smoked pulled pork smothered in velvety house-made mac & cheese, all drenched in their signature BBQ sauce and nestled inside a perfectly toasted Kaiser roll. The flavors meld together with a smoky, creamy, savory punch that’s downright unforgettable.

If you crave something with a bit more edge, their Uptown Philly proudly claims to be the second-best Philly cheesesteak in the United States, featuring chargrilled ribeye harmonized with caramelized purple onions, melted provolone, and a rich house garlic mayo—all served on the intriguingly named B Roll. The hearty, juicy ribeye with its sweet and savory accompaniments is a bold, mouth-watering delight that leaves you savoring every bite.

For burger lovers, the Bayou Classic Dual Smash burger delivers a juicy, flavorful punch, perfect when paired with the standout Bayou Fries. These fries are elevated to an art form—topped with creamy crawfish étouffée sauce, Humpback sauce, caramelized onions, and chives—creating a decadent, multi-dimensional flavor experience that’s both comforting and exciting.

Start your meal with their inventive starters like the Cajun Sip, a sumptuous blend of house mac & cheese, crawfish étouffée cream sauce, caramelized onions, and ribeye, served over their famously crispy fries. Or indulge in tender, well-seasoned pork tamales—refined Southern traditions meet boldness here. End your dining experience on a sweet note with the Bread Pudding infused with Bourbon and roasted pecans, where each forkful is rich, warm, and decadently soothing.

Beyond the food, Crooked Letter Kitchen’s atmosphere enhances the experience. Reviewers frequently praise the attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely friendly staff who go above and beyond to ensure every guest feels welcomed and cared for. From John, the passionate owner who clearly infuses pride in his offerings, to the hands-on service team, their warmth and hospitality create a memorable dining vibe that keeps people coming back time and time again.

Customers rave about the unique flavor profiles, the innovative twists on Southern classics, and the sheer joy of the dining experience here. The combination of fresh, perfectly spiced ingredients and inviting vibes turns every meal into an event filled with satisfaction and genuine comfort.

Crooked Letter Kitchen in Flowood is a hidden gem. I started with the boudin egg rolls, and wow, the sauce both inside and on top was absolutely delicious. Then I tried the pickled cheese curds, which were perfect with just the right amount of chew, and the dipping sauce had that ideal balance of tang and horseradish kick. We also ordered a trio of tacos: birria, shrimp, and ribeye. That ribeye taco was out of this world. The meat was so tender and flavorful that putting it on a taco almost felt criminal, in the best way. I just hope they never skimp on that quality of meat because it made the dish. The shrimp taco was cooked perfectly with great flavor, and the birria taco was impressive. I loved how they fried the cheese first before adding the meat. My only small complaint was that the dipping broth had a noticeable nutmeg note. It wasn’t bad, just not my personal taste in a Mexican-style dish. And then came the bread pudding, easily some of the best I’ve ever had. There used to be a place around here years ago that might have competed, but they’re long gone, so Crooked Letter now holds the crown . The caramelized bourbon sauce formed this perfect crust, and I couldn’t stop eating it. Overall, this was one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. My only wish is for better seating and a bar, because with food this good, you’ll want to hang around a while.

So we ran it back to Crooked Letter Kitchen in Flowood. This time we dined in. The service was beyond superb! Every staff member left a lasting impression on my husband and myself. They visited with us and made sure we had EVERYTHING that we needed. -Pickled Fried Curds (remade for us) - Birria Taco -Ribeye Taco -Boudin Eggrolls -Cotton Candy Lemonade Drink -Bread Pudding Yall!!!! PLEASE go try their Ribeye Taco!!!! It was so flavorful!!! My favorite component was the apple slaw that is garnished on top. It gave such a great flavor to this taco. Now I love me some Birria anything but I just didn’t care for theirs. It tasted like it was lacking seasoning on it. Now the look of it was great. Exactly how I would want mine to look. It just didn’t have the taste for me. The Boudin Eggrolls are simply amazing! I got my bread pudding to go. The staff swears by it, saying it is the best (and they don’t even care for bread pudding at all.) The vibe in the restaurant was magical. Such a great camaraderie. We are looking forward to coming back.

This is a local, “one of a kind” type restaurant. The owner John spoke highly about his food and customer service. And my first eating experience today upheld every word! You won’t find another restaurant similar to it. The food has a distinctive taste with the spices and ingredients. McKenzie and the whole staff are “hands on” with each customer.

We tried Crooked Letter Kitchen’s Flowood location for the first time this week. I had previously had some of their fries from their food truck, which were great. This go round was dine-in. All of the employees were very friendly and super helpful to explain menu items and current specials. We ordered the bayou fries, boudin egg rolls and a variety of tacos. Everything was great, but that ribeye taco?! Lawd!! Be careful ordering those, because you may end up dreaming about them. 10/10. Looking forward to visiting again!

Simply Amazing! The staff is so friendly and helpful, the restaurant has a great atmosphere and is clean. The food is hot, fresh and delicious. Had the smash burger, the cheesy pig fries and the bread pudding. Everything was wonderful. One the best places to eat in Flowood. Will definitely be returning to try the Chicken Tacos next.

I ordered delivery. The tacos are unique and delicious. Update: This time around I got tacos and burgers to share with my coworker-friend, the burger aficionado. Pretty darn good, and the sauce they send is unique and tasty!
